These switches act as an additional layer of protection by monitoring various parameters, such as temperature or vibration levels, and automatically shutting down or disengaging the pump if they exceed certain thresholds.

This helps ensure that even if something goes wrong with one system (such as a faulty temperature gauge), there are other measures in place to protect both the operator and equipment from potential harm.

In some cases, these switches can also be used to activate alarms or other warning systems in case of an emergency. But the safety switches have to be properly calibrated and maintained for them to be effective.

Overload Protection Devices

Overload protection devices are designed to protect against motor overloads caused by sudden changes in motor speed or load conditions. Motor speed can increase due to an unexpected surge in demand or a sudden voltage drop. When this happens, the motor overloads and trips a safety switch.

When activated, these devices will automatically shut off power to the motor until conditions return within safe limits. This helps reduce wear and tear on your equipment and prevent potential accidents caused by sudden surges in power consumption or motor speed. The devices can also protect against reverse rotation, where the motor starts spinning in the wrong direction.
